Hi everyone! This is my first blogging experience, and I’d love to introduce to you my favourite Open Source Contribution Platform — RGSOC.

Let’s begin!

I firmly believe the most important part of any community is the support system provided to each other. Rails Girls Summer of Code provides a comprehensive support network that will help one to grow boundless. RGSOC is about helping newcomers to the world of programming further expand their knowledge and skills, by contributing to a worthwhile Open Source project. The focus is not on producing highly sophisticated code, but rather participants learning transferable skills from their project work.

I got to know about RGSOC from WWC Delhi meetup . It was really a nice day out with lots of Women Programmer sitting and sharing their tech journey. RGSOC is also an initiative promoting young undergraduate females to tech fields. The core team includes you and your female teammate, along with your coaches and the mentor of your Open Source project. One had to look out for teammate and mentor on their own , but it ain’t the tough task , isn’t it ?? :)

I found my teammate in my friends group and coaches from social sites. They are incredible people who are always ready to support 24*7*365 . This is also how OS contribution helps one in not only marking a stepping stone towards tech but also shapes personality and one learn how to respond to mail and work from remote policy.

I am quite excited for RGSOC’18. I believe that with right efforts and knowledge i would be able to achieve the goals i have set for this summers . I wish to contribute in such a way that code is easily understandable and used without much effort for people. Oops i forget to tell I am proficient python programmer and i took python as my first programming language and now learning java script as my project demands java script . This is how we learn , we grow , we achieve goals and live in OS world.

So Start now!!!
